16 km from the villa, about 25 minutes

Le Grand Cap is the fine-dining restaurant of Cap Leucate, perched on top of the cliff a few steps from the lighthouse. It holds one star in the 2026 Michelin Guide and Gault & Millau toques. From Villa Container Fitou it is about 25 minutes away: the outing to book as soon as your dates are set.

The chef and his cooking

Erwan Houssin, trained at Le Meurice under Yannick Alléno, earned his first star in Avignon before dropping anchor in Leucate with Pamela, his pastry-chef wife. His cooking draws on the Aude terroir and on his Occitan and Breton roots: bold flavours, a taste for iodine and touches of acidity, between land and sea, from the Languedoc to Roussillon and as far as Galicia. Leucate oysters, Mediterranean red prawns, cod or poultry confit in Fitou wine tell the story of the coast you see from the villa.

The view

The dining room and terrace overlook the Mediterranean through 180°, from the Sète coast to the Albères, from a fifty-metre cliff. A weekday lunch or a sunset dinner: the setting is part of the meal.

Menus and booking

Several tasting menus, by season and market: L'Écume (75 €, except public holidays), Mar I Munt (98 €), Les Embruns (130 €, seven courses) and a shellfish menu (159 €). Prices noted in October 2026: check them on the restaurant's website.

Le Grand Cap is open Monday lunchtime and Thursday to Sunday. Booking is essential, online or on +33 9 67 78 13 73. On the same site, Aphyllanthe, the chef's bistro, offers a more accessible version of his cooking.
