Font-Romeu Pyrénées 2000 is the main ski resort of the Catalan Pyrenees, near the Spanish border, spread over the villages of Font-Romeu and Bolquère. Set at 1,800 metres and rising to 2,213 metres, it enjoys 325 days of sunshine a year: Font-Romeu is reputed to be the sunniest ski resort in France. From Villa Container Fitou it is about 1 hr 40 away: ski all day and find the mild Mediterranean again in the evening.
The 2026-2027 season
The resort is open from Friday 4 December 2026 to Monday 29 March 2027, so the Christmas and New Year holidays are spent on skis, as are the February holidays. The ski area has 46 km of alpine runs and 111 km of cross-country trails across four sectors:
- La Calme, at 2,213 metres, for freestyle and cross-country skiing
- Aveillans, with black runs for experienced skiers
- Airelles, 25 hectares dedicated to beginners
- Pyrénées 2000, varied terrain and sledging
For non-skiers and children
- DracoSnow, a rail luge, from age 3 with an adult, alone from age 8 and 1.35 m
- Snowtubing, for the whole family from age 3
- Les Sentiers Givrés, six trails on foot or on snowshoes, from beginners to seasoned hikers
- Snowmobiling for 6 to 12 year olds, on a closed, secure track
- Draco'Sky, a zip line with mountain views

Lift passes
Online sales of 2026-2027 passes are not open yet: prices will be published on the official resort website. The resort offers family deals (Forfait Famille, Happy Kids, Forfait Tribu for 3 to 7 people), and its ALTI EARLY offer rewards early booking of 6-day passes, up to 20% outside school holidays and 10% during holidays when booked at least 28 days ahead. Payment is by card, with 3 or 4 instalments available.
Skiing, then the sea
The South of France has something rare: the slopes and the beach within the same day. Villa Container Fitou is a luxury contemporary villa for eight guests, on the heights of Fitou, between the vineyards and the Leucate lagoon. For a Christmas stay it brings both worlds together: one or two days on the slopes at Font-Romeu, and the rest of the stay in peace, in the winter sun, around the heated pool and the big family table.
