Every winter the Luna Park in Le Barcarès becomes the Village de Noël du Barcarès, the largest Christmas village in the South of France and the 3rd largest in France: a Christmas market with craft and food chalets, ice rinks, fairground rides and shows. The 2026 edition runs from 20 November 2026 to 10 January 2027, half an hour from Villa Container Fitou.
What you will find
- Two large natural-ice rinks, with or without skate hire
- The Ice Museum, Santa's House and the Enchanted Forest
- Au pays du Père Noël, a world of more than 200 automatons
- More than thirteen rides: big wheel, grand carousel, Super 8, Christmas slide
- The Christmas chalets: craftspeople, traditional chalets, mountain chalets and large restaurants
- "Le Miracle de Noël", a 360° show with more than 500 drones, every Friday evening
The detailed 2026 programme (parades, Santa appearances, shows) will be published on the official website.

Spending the holidays at the villa
Villa Container Fitou is a luxury contemporary villa for eight guests, on the heights of Fitou, overlooking the Leucate lagoon and the sea. For Christmas or New Year it offers what a resort flat cannot: large rooms to gather the family around the table, a heated pool, and terraces in the Mediterranean winter sun. Days by the sea or in the vineyards, evenings on the ice in Le Barcarès, and the quiet of the villa thirty minutes away.
Over the same period the Sigean African Reserve lights up with Lumières d'Afrique, and the slopes of Font-Romeu Pyrénées 2000 open on 4 December. For the holidays, check availability: it is best to book early for Christmas and New Year.
